Missouri medical malpractice claims drop, insurance premiums continue to increase
2004-11-08
The University of Illinois board of trustees is scheduled to consider a $3 million lawsuit on Thursday. The Illinois medical malpractice lawsuit contends a former university doctor was wrong to discharge twins from the hospital in early 1998 without first ordering breathing monitors and around the clock nursing care. The twins were born weighing just one pound each and were discharged weighing three pounds apiece. The twin boy died two day after being discharged from the hospital and the twin girl lived under a month.
