Consumer Rights Group Believes Medical Malpractice Lawsuits Eliminate Bad Doctors
Consumer rights group Coalition for Consumer Rights thinks that in order for the number of medical malpractice lawsuits to decline the doctors committing the medical mistakes must be eliminated. The failure to discipline doctors for the continuation of medical errors is more prevalent in some states over others. Consumer advocacy group Public Citizen ranked the states in order of disciplining doctors in 2003 and has seen certain states consistently failing to implement stricter regulations and enforcements to prevent patients from becoming injured by repeat offenders.
Like the patients doctors treat, doctors are medical patients as well and should desire competent care like everyone else does. Making disciplinary and malpractice information readily available for the public so that more informed choices can be made, instituting emergency suspensions with problematic doctors, and revoking licenses when necessary can all help prevent medical malpractice lawsuits from being necessary.
