Woman Sues for Scarring After Treatment

A woman living in Illinois recently filed a suit against a laser skin center after she was received a cosmetic treatment and was permanently scarred.

The suit blames Geneva Laser Skin Center for the scars across the plaintiff’s legs.

Woman Burned During Hair Removal

Jonna Brandt, 40, reportedly went to the skin center for a hair removal procedure and endured first and second-degree burns on her legs.

When scarring remained on her legs months later, Brandt says she called the center several times to speak with Dr. Gina Lesnik, the center’s owner, and her calls were ignored.

Lawsuit Allegations

Brandt says that during the procedure, she experienced “great pain” while employees of the center were using Dermatique, which is an intense pulsed light machine used for hair removal.

According to reports, when the employees stopped the procedure, they noticed the machine’s filter wasn’t in the machine, but was on the ground.

“Our belief is that the person who performed the procedure had not been adequately trained,” says Brandt’s attorney, John Malm.

Due to the severity of her scars, Brandt is now seeing a plastic surgeon in an attempt to get rid of them.
