Woman in Ohio Seeks $5M in Malpractice Suit

A woman living in Toledo, Ohio recently filed a suit against a surgeon and nurse at the Toledo Hospital claiming they were negligent in treating her.

The woman is now reportedly numb on one side of her body and shaky on the other resulting from the surgical injury.

Surgery Turns Traumatic

Tricia Dold was admitted to Toledo Hospital for an overnight surgery to fix a degenerated disc in her neck.

During surgery, Dr. Jospeh Yazdi admitted to dropping a surgical instrument onto the woman’s spinal cord.

Dold was then forced to be hospitalized for another two months as a result of the mistake.

Suits Filed By Couple

Dold and her husband, William, have filed a suit against Dr. Yazdi, the Toledo Hospital, and the Toledo Clinic, who allegedly referred Dold to the neurosurgeon without warning her that he had anger management issues and was under stress.

“Here is a guy that should have not been in the operating room that day,” explains the attorney for the Dold’s, Marshall Wisniewski. “This was preventable. That’s what’s sad about this whole thing.”

The attorney for the couple, Wisniewski says that he plans to add nursing negligence to the suit as well, since Dold injured her back when a nurse dropped her during her stay.
