New Jersey medical malpractice laws may result in largest donation
The Medical Society of New Jersey has contributed $478,524 to candidates and parties through September 30, 2003 according to campaign finance record. Seeking to limit jury awards in New Jersey medical malpractice lawsuits, physicians have so far donated the most money to state Legislature candidates. Opposing this, the state’s chapter of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America has given $81,200 to campaigns so far this year. The New Jersey medical malpractice debate is expected to continue.
