Public Citizen releases New York medical malpractice information
The Public Citizen consumer group released new information regarding 3,170 New York doctors that have been disciplined by the state’s medical board for incompetence, misprescribing drugs, sexual misconduct, criminal convictions, ethical lapses, and other offenses. A large portion of these New York medical doctors was not required to stop practicing even for a short while.
Now the group has allowed consumers to view the New York data online in hopes of preventing any more New York medical malpractices. According to the group’s information, of the 835 actions taken against doctors for substandard care, incompetence or negligence, only 340 involved license revocation, suspension, or surrender. These New York medical malpractice instances indicate a dangerous safety implication.
