Statistics show Pennsylvania medical malpractice crisis is just a scare tactic
2004-04-18
The Pennsylvania Medical Society has been claiming doctors have been leaving the state and has been pushing for capping medical malpractice awards. According to the medical group's own statistics, Pennsylvania has actually gained 800 doctors from 2002 to 2003. The medical group's spokesman responded by saying the society never claimed general doctors were leaving but specialists. The State Senate President said the medical society has been using scare tactics to try to get the caps passed.
