Public Citizen released a 25-page report on Pennsylvania medical malpractice January 16, 2003.
Public Citizen released a 25-page report on Pennsylvania medical malpractice January 16, 2003. The Pennsylvania Medical Society criticized the report, while choosing to focus much of its attention to a typo that was included in the report. The Public Citizen consumer group challenged the Pennsylvania Medical Society to provide facts to back up its attacks on the report, however the Public Citizen Congress Watch director has stated that so far no factual rebuttals have been provided. Public Citizen thinks that the Pennsylvania Medical Society is attempting to discredit them by also claiming the Public Citizen 2002 statistics may include physicians that are in the military or no longer actively practicing, though the medical society did not also acknowledge the previous year's statistics include the same physicians which would make accurate comparisons.
